NorthWestTWO are entering 2 neighbourhood awards this summer and would appreciate residents' help in beautifying our neighbourhood.

Flytipping particularly of mattresses, and maybe because we are a transient neighbourhood with a high turnover of rentals, some of the front gardens are full of dumping from exiting tenants. Thought you may be interested in the following information from Brent's Environmental Health:

Environmental Health can address land which contains materials which can create harbourage for rodents, for example bed mattresses and soft furnishings, and legal notice can be served on the owner of the land.

In response to the quotation about section 215 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990, yes, the Council is able to use this legislation. This legislation can be used, for example, for an accumulation of building materials on private land.

If you or other residents want to report refuse on private land to Environmental Health, please email
env.health@brent.gov.uk or to make a complaint by phone, the contact number is 020 8937 5252.

Last year we ran a successful campaign "Trim your Bush" and thank you to all the residents who cut their hedges and smartened up their front gardens - fancy having another go this year?
