Sgt Richard Jackson has just sent an urgent warning:
3 days ago, in Teignmouth Road, 3 males knocked on the door of a house claiming to be BT Engineers. They were described as one well-spoken black youth with short black hair, accompanied by 2 white males.
They requested access to the property to do some line testing, but, as they were not in uniform and no appointment had been made, the occupier quite rightly refused them access, and they ran off.
Please pass this information on if you have any vulnerable relatives, or know of anyone who might be at risk. If you see them ring 999. If you have any information please ring the SNT on 020 8721 2962 and leave a message if we are not there, or, better still, email Mapesbury.SNT@met.police.uk .

If you have any information about these people please contact the SNT, because they need fast feedback from residents to catch these con men. The SNT work together as a team, so there may not be someone on duty when you call, but they will get messages or emails as soon as they come on duty.
I have just realised that these men called on me a couple of days ago, saying that they wanted to check that I was paying the minimum I needed to. Fortunately I turned them away with the door on the chain, but they really were convincing. They need to be caught quickly.
