It has come to our attention that the former New Heights Furniture Shop in Cricklewood Broadway has been taken over by a supermarket called Way – 2 – save. The owner has applied for a 24 hour drinks licence. Apparently they have another branch in Neasden which has very good food – fresh fruit and veg and halal butchers catering for every section of the community, which would add to the choices for supermarket shopping in the area in a positive way.
However, NorthWestTwo Residents Association strongly object to the application for a 24 hour licence to sell alcohol. Cricklewood does not need more alcohol provision with its vast array of bars and off licences. Additional 24 hour off licensed premises would only contribute to negative images of the area. We have concerns that this would also contribute to more crime and disorder, and health and safety issues.

I am writing to object to the application for a 24 hour licence to sell alcohol at 285-289 Cricklewood Broadway, NW2 6NX - the proposed site of a Way-2-Save supermarket.
Cricklewood already has a vast array of licensed premises and off licenses on both Barnet and Brent sides of the Broadway and additional 24 hour licences are completely unnecessary.
I strongly object to this application on the grounds of increased risk of anti-social behaviour, crime, noise pollution, traffic and potential parking problems. I would like a receipt of this objection and details of any other applications in the NW2 area.
